It’s Library Lock-In Time
It’s hard to believe that the time has come around again to celebrate our fourth graders. On Friday, October 8, 2010 at 6:00 p.m., fourth graders will gather for an evening of fun in celebration of an important learning milestone. The ”Library Lock-In” is a ten-year-old tradition here at the lower school library that honors the many levels of growth our fourth graders have achieved. Studies suggest that fourth grade is a pivotal stage in a student’s learning experience during which time fourth graders are ready for serious cooperative and competitive games, and are thirsty for self-challenge.
Library Lock-In is a opportunity for our fourth graders to get to know each other, to take fun risk through games, to share their fears by screaming because of scary stories, to bond and to accept the on-going challenge of learning to become responsible human beings. Sorry no parents are allowed in the library during the lock-in but rest assured your child will tell you all about it. The library will supply food, activities, fun and we promise to have students ready for your prompt pickup at 8:30 p.m.
The library staff and I are looking forward to creating wonderful memories with our fourth graders, and the Library Lock-In is just the beginning!
