Battle of the Books

Battle of the Books (BOB) is a lower school club for students who enjoy reading and talking about good books. Each year, librarians from several schools in Orange County get together and create a BOB List of about 20 titles for students to choose from. Throughout the year, students meet in the library during lunchtime to join in book-related games and discussions (this year’s meetings occur on Day 1 of the rotation). In the spring, St. Margaret’s takes two teams to compete with other independent schools in a Jeopardy-style competition. …

BOB takes off

BOB has begun!
Today, a  library full of 4th and 5th grade students met at lunch to hear all about the Battle of the Books (BOB) club.  BOB, a popular SMES reading club, is in its 4th year at SMES.  During club meetings students play games and discuss BOB books. Already some BOB-ers have decided that Igraine the Brave and Trapped! are their favorites.  Check out the BOB page to learn more about the club and see the full list of this year’s BOB books.
